Hello! The contents of this key are downloaded from publicly available websites. This collection is just a convenient way for me to organize the files I use, and since they are useful to me, perhaps they would be useful to you. I hope to contents will continue to evolve, and make it easier for hams to be prepared when the power and internet go out. The folder contents are described below: Builder: Be careful with this one. It contains a script that when run will make an offline copy of the Santa Clara County ARES/RACES website. If uses a lot of bandwidth, so I encourage people to share their copies, rather than everybody grabbing from SCCO. Manuals: As I find them, I download and store manuals for any Ham Radio and accessory I come across. The manual for Ham Radio Deluxe is no longer available, so I made a copy of the manual website. Reference: I put miscellaneous useful information here. It does contain my PowerPoint deck "Ham Radio and You" which I use to share the wealth of fun things to do with ham radio. Software: I keep downloaded copies of programs I use, or was looking at. I try to keep them up to date, and each program folder should contain a URL document that points to the download location for that program. In some cases the folders may contain drivers or other required giblets. www.scc-ares-races.org: This is an offline copy of the Santa Clara County ARES/RACES website. It was created to allow EmComm operators to have the entire site available in a disaster. Finally, there is a document called "Stiv's Guide to Ham Radio in Silicon Valley" In this document, I try to keep a list of all the Clubs, Websites, Software and other useful tools for Hams in Silicon Valley. This is a living document and I add to it as I discover new cool things. Copyright Notice: Other than the documents I wrote, I do not "own" the contents of this USB key. They are publicly downloadable, and while you may need to purchase a license to use some of them the point is just to have whatever you may need when you are disconnected. Feel free to make copies, and share them around, in fact I encourage it! The contents of this drive are free. I may charge you for a USB stick if you don't want to wait for the file copy. I plan to drag this along to the Electronics Flea Market, and I will update anybody who brings along a key to whatever the latest stuff I have is. While updates should be quick, a full copy takes about 15 minutes. Contribute to the MasterHam folder: Do you have a driver, software or some other resource you would like to have added to this folder? Let me know, stiv@stiv.com. I will add the link, and download the software to the folder. [A future project may include a folder where people contribute configuration files for various radios including all useful channels for EmComm].
