This page is used to operate the XG3 using serial commands.
Enter a frequency in MHz, and the XG3 will change to that frequency. You don't need to enter leading or trailing zeros, just the significant places. The XG3 Utility formats the frequency to 6 decimal places. The low order digit is 1 Hz.
Left click the up or down arrow to change the frequency in "step size" increments. If you hold the mouse button down for a long time, the step size increases. The frequency is sent to the XG3 when you release the mouse button.
Press any of the 12 buttons to change to the indicated frequency.
Click Edit Frequency Memories to change the frequencies.
Select one of four output levels:
The output level selections are accurate only for frequencies up to 200 MHz, as higher frequencies rely on harmonics of the fundamental RF signal.
You may turn the XG3 RF output off or on. When RF output is disabled (unchecked), the XG3 is otherwise fully operational and can be programmed.
Click to start a frequency sweep. The sweep values are set in Edit Sweep Memories.
Click to Edit Sweep Memories.
Click to obtain the XG3's current frequency. This might be used during a frequency sweep.
