Radios for TCP/IP over UHF

Current status: Evaluation radios are currently being tested. Testing is expected to take several weeks and should be concluded by the end of April.

We are currently evaluating several radios in this market space. The most promising vendors so far are:

Test Plan

Field testing has begun and is primarily focused on two areas:

• Confirmation of Use Case
  • This involves verifying configurability for interacting with our network and running some performance tests with e-mail and packet traffic. This testing is being done indoors and in the field.
• Confirmation of RF parameters
  • This involves making measurements of actual outdoor RF performance between several agency locations and two or more of our hub sites using the same antennas, filters, coax and other station components that will actually be used in the production network.
