Practice sessions are a chance to work on individual skills, without the scheduling and scenario constraints usually associated with exercises (including drills). In other words, no pressure!
Exercises (including drills) are an opportunity to apply individual skills as a part of a team in order to achieve the objective(s) defined in the exercise scenario. Depending on the scenario, exercises can include time and performance pressure to simulate a real world situation.
Public service events are an important training tool. Operating in and around the public provides a different environment from a scripted exercise, with different and often unpredictable challenges. Check the events schedule for races, parades, art and wine festivals, and other events.
Credentials are awarded to those who meet specific administrative, equipment, training, skill level, and experience requirements. They are used when requesting resources and making assignments.
